In einem Altersheim in Kalkutta, Am Rande von Sonagachi - einem der ältesten Rotlichtviertel Asiens - findet sich ein Ort der Würde für ältere Frauen, die oft jahrzehntelang gezwungen waren als Sexarbeiterinnen zu arbeiten. Im AshaRising Home finden sie nicht nur Schutz, sondern auch Gemeinschaft, Wärme und ein neues Stück Leben.
Rahel Lam, Tobias Weinhold und Maria Bressan lebten mehrere Wochen mit den Frauen im Heim, teilten ein Zimmer, einen Alltag - und begannen gemeinsam eine Wand anzumalen. Aus Momenten des Zusam-menseins, aus Stille und Gespräch, aus Tränen und Lachen entstanden Geschichten, die berühren und zeigen, dass Hoffnung viel mehr ist als einfach nur ein Wort. Cup of Color gibt mit dieser Ausstellung einen Einblick in ein einzigartiges soziales Kunstprojekt mit Menschen am Rande der Gesellschaft.

In a retirement home in Calcutta, on the outskirts of Sonagachi—one of Asia's oldest red-light districts—a place of dignity has been found for elderly women who were often forced to work as sex workers for decades. At the AshaRising Home, they find not only protection, but also community, warmth, and a new lease on life.
Rahel Lam, Tobias Weinhold, and Maria Bressan lived with the women in the shelter for several weeks, sharing a room and a daily routine—and began painting a wall together. From moments of togetherness, from silence and conversation, from tears and laughter, stories emerged that are touching and demonstrate that hope is much more than just a word. With this exhibition, Cup of Color offers insight into a unique social art project with people on the margins of society.
