A COMMUNITY MURAL PROJECT in Carrara, ITALY Jun 2026
Together with the residents of the apartment block at the center of Carrara, we painted a 50-meter-long wall. On one particular day, we painted with a kindergarten group in the morning and a group of seniors with dementia in the afternoon. Everyone was invited to paint a flower on the wall, creating a meadow of small memories along the left edge.
One afternoon, the elderly mother of a friend came to watch us. She was deeply impressed, and her entire expression changed. Our friend was overjoyed: "I don't know when I last saw my mother so happy." She hadn't been able to leave her apartment for a month because she was suffering from cancer.
